Gyakie
Ghana
Jackline Acheampong, widely known as Gyakie, is a Ghanaian singer-songwriter whose music blends Afro-fusion, R&B, and Highlife. Raised in Kumasi in a musical household her father is highlife legend Nana Acheampong, she was introduced to the studio from an early age.
Although she studied International Business at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Gyakie found her true path in music. She debuted in 2019 with “Love Is Pretty” and gained early attention with “Never Like This.” Her breakthrough came in 2020 with her debut EP, Seed, led by the standout single “Forever.” The track quickly spread across Africa, topping charts and later receiving a remix with Nigerian star Omah Lay, which went platinum in South Africa.
Gyakie has since earned multiple awards, her sophomore EP, My Diary (2022), showcased her growth, featuring collaborations like “Flames” with Davido and the fan favorite “Something.”
