Ciao Everyone, We are back with Diasporahood! In this episode, I'm in a conversation with Dr Camilla Hawthorne, Associate Professor of Sociology and Critical Race and Ethnic Studies at the University of Santa Cruz, California. We talked about her recently published book "Contesting Race and Citizenship: Youth Politics in the Black Mediterranean".  This book is key to understanding race and the citizenship struggle in Italy. Together with Camilla, we talk about her identity as an Italo-African American, her research findings, what is the understanding of race in Italy, especially starting from her relationship with her Italian family on her mother's side.  Enjoy,  Benny xxx Info about Dr Camilla Hawthone: https://www.camillahawthorne.com/  The book: https://www.cornellpress.cornell.edu/book/9781501762291/contesting-race-and-citizenship/#bookTabs=1 Twitter @camillahawth Info on the Chronicles of A Black Italian Woman IG @chroniclesofabiw @smileybennyy  Email chroniclesofablackitalianwoman@gmail.com
