We are Back!!
So Nigerian Podcast returns with a brand new season and we’re kicking things off with a conversation unlike any we’ve had before.
Loan apps have become a lifeline for many Nigerians, but they’ve also gained a reputation for relentless calls, public shaming, and aggressive debt recovery tactics. We’ve all heard the stories from borrowers, but what does it look like from the other side?
In this episode, we sit down with Ibukun, a former loan app collector, to uncover what really happens behind the scenes. From how collectors are recruited and trained to the pressure of meeting recovery targets, Ibukun shares an honest look at the realities of the job, the controversial tactics used to recover debts, and the ethical questions that came with it.
