2024 saw the highest number of drug-induced deaths on record in Australia with more than 2,500 lives lost that year. Australia's Annual Overdose Report reveals older Australians accounted for almost half of these reported deaths. Experts say support and resources need to be urgently directed toward treatment and harm reduction.
