50 years ago SBS was born, starting its first ever broadcasts on Sydney and Melbourne radio stations in different languages. The first broadcast was in Greek. 2025 also marks half a century since the ‘Patris’, a ship that brought tens-of-thousands of Greek migrants to Australia, left our shores for the last time.
