Wednesday the 7th of October 1998, 40-year-old Wendy Upton of Lichfield went to her local Tesco’s to buy the basics, and vanished without a trace. For nine months, there was no trace of her; no sightings, no calls and her bank account wasn’t touched, her husband believed she had been murdered, but the Police held firm to their belief that she was missing, had fled, or had overdosed. But what was the truth, and how did her killer subvert the investigation to his own need?
