Mercy Chinwo, a gospel music luminary from Nigeria, was born on September 5, 1990, in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. As the first daughter in a family of five siblings, Chinwo's musical journey found its roots in the church choir where she nurtured her vocal skills from an early age. After capturing the nation's heart by winning Season 2 of Nigerian Idol in 2012, Chinwo transitioned from talent show victor to gospel music powerhouse.
Her professional career took off with the release of her inaugural single "Testimony" in 2015, which showcased her potent vocal range and emotional depth. The following year, she released "Igwe," further establishing her unique identity in the gospel genre. Signing with EeZee Conceptz marked a major pivot, culminating in the release of her debut album "The Cross My Gaze" and the standout track "Excess Love," which garnered significant acclaim and performed exceptionally well on various charts.
In 2020, her album "Satisfied" broadened her musical appeal, showcasing her versatility and deepening her connection with fans across the globe.
